What is needed to get KC Digital Voice?

You will need a high speed Internet Connection, such as DSL, Cable or Wireless. KC Online will provide you with an ATA device (which will allow you to use a regular analog telephone) or you may provide your own VoIP Telephone.

Can I keep my current phone number?

Yes! We can port your telephone number onto our system for a one-time fee of $25.00. It can take up to 45 days to port a number.

Can I use my computer and telephone at the same time?

In most cases, yes.

Does my computer need to be on to use KC Digital Voice?

KC Digital Voice requires that your broadband Internet connection be active, but your computer would not need to be on.

What will happen if my power goes out?

KC Digital Voice will not work if your power is out, or if your high speed Internet connection is down.

Will KC Digital Voice work with Satellite Internet service?

No, satellite uploads are too latent for the KC Digital Voice to work well.

Can I travel with KC Digital Voice?

Yes! Just plug your VoIP device into any high speed Internet connection. Keep in mind that connecting at a new location may impact your ability to connect directly to emergency services through 9-1-1.

I don't have broadband, how does Analog Dial Around work?

This is a service for people who don't have high-speed Internet, but still want to take advantage of our unlimited long distance. We will assign you a local telephone number. To make unlimited long distance calls, you will dial that local number, and then dial the number you want to call.
